W205 Premium Pack vs Premium Plus?

Hi all, I am new to the forum so apologies if this has already been asked! I am about to order a C220 Estate AMG auto and am not sure what to do regarding the Premium Packs. I deffo want the goodies with the Premium Pack but am not sure the Plus pack is worth the extra money. I would love the bigger screen and the better sound system but it seems a lot of extra dough. Any thoughts on this? Cheers, Jim

Ha! Just came back form Merc at Tamworth...they had a few AMG's but only one estate and none of the AMG's had either Premium back. Odd?! What have you ordered fella?

Airmatic sounds good - the ride on the AMG does worry me. You'll get the analogue clock with the black ash trim too...which is nice! I have now bitten the bullet and ordered an Obsidian black C220 AMG Premium Plus auto with privacy glass. 22 week lead time :-( so I'm looking at mid to late November. Thanks for your advice regarding the Plus pack fella!

Pick mine up tomorrow (has plus pack) - ordered purely because I'm trading in a black edition Audi that had the awesome BOSE sound system

Good man! I really hope the 590w Burmeister and the Comand is worth the extra outlay! Then again, I'd rather regret speccing it than regret not speccing it!

Mines coming Monday or Tuesday after PDI. Pics will follow as soon as.
Who ever gets my 62 reg c220 sport plus saloon will be getting a perfect car with only 20k miles.
It will on sale at Esplanade Isle of Wight very soon, which are an excellent and very friendly dealership. I would recommend Richard or Brendan as excellent salesmen who go the extra mile to ensure you get everything you want.

Awesome James - really enjoying and I must say the burmeister system is much better than the BOSE in my last Audi - really glad I went for the plus pack - sunroof is fab and the upgraded satnav with larger 8.5" screen is so smooth - so glad I jumped from Audi. Just wish I could afford the proper AMG but do too many miles and the mpg would cripple me.

Yes - 220 diesel AMG line with premium plus and 19" alloys in palladium silver

Dropped a nice A6 s-line black edition with 20" rims and every option in the book - do miss the heads up display though - haven't got that on the merc.

The Audi was a good car but I'd put 40K on the clock in just 12 months so it had to go.

Just been to Spain and back through France in a borrowed C200 Diesel whilst I wait for our factory order. Premium plus Airmatic half timbered. Smoothed out minor Frence roads brilliantly and the sound alone is worth the plus upgrade. Stress tested a normal sound system in local dealer until the paint fell off the walls and it is hopeless in comparison. Satnav quite good but seems to think airmatic gets you over those remote control bollards the Frence have. I suspect an older electronic map. No chill compartment but central console seems well insulated. It's fabulous and so quiet. Wife thought we were dawdling until she saw the speedo on a deserted Autoroute. 50+ MPG @ 70p/litre was great. Helped as my tastes in wine are not yet that price level.

Nice motor too tricky...good to hear the Merc holds its own against it. I know people rate Audi interiors, reckon the A6 and the C Class are on a par? I personally love the interior on the C, wipes the floor with Jags and Beemers in my opinion, but I have never compared it to an A6.

Sounds like a great trip Stu! I had an ambition to order new German car and pick it up from the factory - then enjoy the drive back to blight! I finally ordered the motor but settled with picking it up from the dealer! :fail

Good to hear your experience with the Burmester...really looking forward to turning it up to 11 (is 11 louder than 10?). Pretty excited about that panoramic sunroof too!

The Burmester is fantastic, not over based like the Bose and the way it gets the track names of CDs from the internet is seamless. Integrates easily withe later Ipods but not older ones. Not convinced about the touchpad though, really needs a keypad and the e-manual seems to be at a different release level to the rest of the car.

Thanks Stu - when it grabs the CD info from the internet does it show any visual's of the band or the CD album cover? I recently had a Volvo S60 on test drove that showed the album cover on the screen when listening to MPG3 or Spotify...was a nice little trick!

I think it does but the one I was using was so weird that it was difficult to tell. I'll try another more obvious one. Dark side of the moon would be good. But I only have it on vinyl.
