:confused:since the previous owner charged the battery without disconnecting it my windows/mirrors and interior boot release no longer function.
All fuses checked and good, windows and boot release work just fine on the remote fob!
Any ideas on what to check gratefully received.
Car goes on the road in February, so no insurance or tax yet, so cant take it to Indie legally.

Do the windows (well the passenger window) operate from it's own controls ? I.E is it all the switches in one place that don't work ?

I can't remember where the W208 boot release or mirror switches are

Richard

Centre console just behind the gearshift , where the window switches are.

Ok, that is a little control module, so its either died or confused after the battery discharged. ("lower control field control module"). When you press buttons it sends signals on the car's network which are then picked up by other control modules and acted upon.

Its fed from the main fusebox fuse 7, so take the fuse out, check it, and re-insert/replace having left at least 30 seconds and see if that works. (By removing it, of course it will power down the module)

Thanks Richard,
I will try that when I get home tomorrow and post the results.
I really appreciate your help.

Hi Richard,
tried that, no difference so i have ordered a known quantity used switch panel assembly to see if that works.
Once again thank you, and i will post results asap

Hi,
I found them on ebay, they trade from Meriden, west midlands, ph:
01676 522992.
I spoke to them prior to buying, they advised me that all their sale items are checked and an electronic diagnosis of each vehicle is carried out prior to breaking to maintain their reputation.
They agreed with the diagnosis, and i ordered the switchpack at 15.30Hrs, free delivery! It was delivered at 10,30 by royal mail.
Absolutely delighted, and I phoned them after fitting the unit to let them know all was now well.
They really appreciated the feedback, they break high end cars and prices are very good in my opinion.
Hope this helps you
Regards,
John

Hi all, I'm having same problem just on drivers side. Removed fuse 7 for 30 secs. Reset just as Richard described. Is the mobile under bonnet or near switches by gear selector?

Hi, if its just 1 side it could be many more things - not particularly likely to be the module though as it still works for the other functions and the individual switches don't tend to break,

The module is part of the "pack" of switches.

Drivers window, mirror adjustment and seat adjustment stopped working. Passenger side all ok. It's happened 3 times in 5 weeks . Reset by removing fuse this morning. ( accidentally reset before when messing with fuses I presume).
