W208 Auto Gearknob

Anyone know how to remove this? I managed to get the lower small collar off, and then got stuck. No obvious way to move/loosen the gearknob.

Once the lower collar is unscrewed, just pull the knob upwards. It can be a bit stiff but it will come off in your hand. Sounds a bit rude, but it works.

yes, if the bottom collar is off it may need a really good tug upwards - hopefully leaving the chrome stick behind

8 year old MOMO gearknob now installed (this was in my R Reg: SLK 230K) which I found looking for some screw drivers on Monday.

Still looks good. Better in the CLK than the SLK
