Well ,

I picked up a set of these ( minus the EL strips ) from Ebay the other day for £31 ! :bannana: , i'll order some EL strips from US Ebay ( like Stats did ) , should be able to get the strips and transformers for £20 ish ....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=190236510861&_fvi=1

Inchcape list the sills at £172 , so i'm well chuffed !

Soon as all the bits arrive i'll get them fitted and post some piccys .

Well , made some progress on this today.

All the bits were here , i had just changed the front pads ( with Dad ) , and it was only 2.00pm so i thought ' I'll have a go at the sills ' ...

If you learn nothing else from this thread , do not start to fit illuminated sills at 2.00pm

I have managed to drive the car home , and will finish it tomorrow.

Currently to do ..

Refit fusebox
Refit passenger footwell carpet and under dash trim
Refit drivers side under dash trim and side panelling
Refit original sills
Drill hole in original sills for wiring
Cut off OEM connectors and solder on new EL strips and transformers
Fit new sills
Refit trim around back seats

I have 4 sills on my back seat at the moment and tools everywhere

I now have plenty of respect for what Alfie and Richard do !!

Fitting these on a w208 isn't like fitting them on a w124  getting the wiring from place to place is a proper nightmare and i forgot to take any pictures  time for a beer .....

Well done, take joy in the fact that you are almost there can't wait to see the pics.

Well , they're in and the car is back together ....

My theory of inanimate reproduction has been proved as well ....

It states :- ' If you take something apart and put it back together enough times , you will have two of them '

I have a few screws and bits in the door pocket at the moment  but nothing rattles and it all looks good.

Once it gets dark i'll take a piccy.
