I have seen a couple of AMG 208s with front massage seats. Were these OEM? Has anyone ever attempted a retofit?

Hi,
208's never had massage seats as standard or an option, you might be getting confused and mistaking the orthopedic controller as the massage function.

Yes, orthopaedic seats as are fitted in my 208 55 AMG.

I don't see why they can't be retrofitted?

@ConvertibleCLK - get some pics of your car up!! :) want to see how it Sits on 19's.

Ive done some digging and I cant seem to find any for sale anywhere :(

As soon as she is cleaned up ill get some more up. :)

Try looking for a car that's breaking.. There's an E55 in the wanted/for sale section at the moment that may have orthro seats so you could try that?

From what I can see your car looks lovely.. I'm just about to fit 19's on my CLK.. would you mind telling me the specs of your tyres and how you've lowered your car? Are you running spacers?

Ill take a look, cheers. If im correct the orthro controls are on the seat so they will be a straight swap?

Dont quote me on it as i havent bought a tyre for 6 months but i think they are 245 30 19. I have 5 mm spacer on the front and nothing at the rear. I did have a spacer on the rear but when it was lowered it began to rub. Quick fix was to bin the rear spacers. Although i would like a better fix for this so the whell doesnt sit so far in the arch. It's lowered 40mm.

Thanks, its my daily run so working on it is quite hard!

Yes the controls are on the seats, although I don't know much about that kind of thing so couldn't tell you whether it would be a straight swap. Are you looking to swap the two front seats completely or just add the orthopaedic function?

Ok, I'm going with 235/35 and 265/30's along with spacers.. I know it will need lowering but I'm still undecided on how to go about this.. H&R springs?

How did you lower your car? New springs?

Yeah just new springs. I was told a 40mm drop wouldn't require anything else. Im not interested in going any lower than that.

The ride is certainly better but be sure when lowering on 19"s to avoid the monumental pot holes on the A406! I have a 50p sized dent in the rim caused by not paying enough attention!

Also Speed Bumps can be an issue… I wanted to get the Reiger lip kit but thats just not possible. Well at least it wouldnt be possible for longer than a trip to work!

Hi
Orthopedic seats are not massage seats, they are simply air bladders fitted in the seat cushions that get inflated to suit the person in the seat.
They can be retro fitted to your seats, there is actually a WIS work instruction to do this, you will have to run vacuum pipe from the boot to each seat and fit a plastic air tank as well, you may also have to replace the PSE pump and possibly modify some wiring, but this will depend on the original spec of your vehicle.
It maybe better to get the complete seat with the air bladders and controllers already fitted, this is what I did to my C230k, and as the CLK is built on the same floor pan and chassis it shares many parts with the C class and the procedure will be the same.

Thanks Andy
