W208 speakers not working/blown

Hi guys

I joined very recently as a new Merc owner: -

The car is generally extremely nice and I am very impressed, but I have few niggles and the main one is that the stereo/speakers aren't working.

More accurately, the drivers side speakers don't seem to be working except for the one at the rear of the door behind the drivers seat which is working but blown ( horrible crackling only ).

I tried Halfords but they won't touch a CLK due to the airbag ,, is my only option in Suffolk to go to a Merc dealer? ( don't want to spend full ICE money on a crap speaker replace ( not Bose originals ).

there are plenty of door speakers on ebay, why not just buy some and do it yourself?

I think GSF also stock them and it is a very easy job, airbag is nothing to worry about wont affect the job at all . I put a Harmon Kardon set off ebay in mine along with a HK amp, sounds brilliant

I am in a bit of a difficult position to do it myself otherwise I would .. i.e.

Sunday morning .. leave Suffolk and travel to Swansea.
Mon to Thurs .. work in Swansea
Friday .. work then travel Swansea to Suffolk.

I have Saturday but that is the day I have my two girls so have no time then either
