Hello, I have w210 e220 cdi 2002 which now and then will not rev over 3000 rpm. It changes gears fine its auto by the way. I have changed MAF sensor and cleaned out egr valve any idea's please.

This may well be completely wrong,but well worth a try ,reset the throttle peddle/gearbox sensors,assuming you have a auto box it only takes 5 mins and is dead easy,put key in ignition and turn it to second position,all the lights are up on the dash do not start the engine,press the accelerator to the floor and wait for 10 seconds then turn the key back take foot of the pedal and then wait for at least two minutes then start the car up and take it for a decent drive see if you can get the car to kick down ,it may sort your problem it might not,it should help gearbox changes if nothing else.

Check all your boost hoses for splits, intercooler hoses would be my guess.

As bob says, was it a genuine Pierburg maf? Same problem with my 320cdi, it had a MAF just before I bought it but it failed within 9 months. Euro are doing pierburg ones and with the discount code I got mine for £53 between Christmas and New year.
