W210 300TD SIDE VENTS NOT WORKING

the centre vents are working fine and every other function seems of except the outside middle vents.
its a non climate control model so only has the round knobs to turn

has anyone else had this problem..the car has stood for a few months so the battery was removed

Thia may or may not be related to your problem but the cabin pollen filter, under the passenger glove box in a w210, if blocked can reduce vent airflow quite sigificantly. Try taking it out altogether to test.
