W210 E320 CDi - No Turbo "Woosh" Noise

I have been experiencing a lack of power in my current E320 CDi compared with previous that I owned and another one on the road.

The main thing that is different with this E320 is there is not the distinctive "woosh" turbo noise coming from the waste gate.

The car is not in limp mode and does shift a bit, but no where near like it should.

I checked the actuator and that is moving when increasing the revs.

Any ideas? May get it onto the lift this weekend

Maybe the EGR needs a clean out?

EGR or Turbo actuator.. get them both checked out..

Hi - A good dose of Forte or 4 Tec turbo cleaner would be a good starting point - whilst you say the actuator is moving it may not be getting the full spectrum of travel due to build up of carbon on the vanes/turbo ring - worth a try

Funnily enough, the EGR of the other E320 was blocked and this was producing excessive black smoke from the rear. My one is not doing this at all.

I will have a look into giving the actuator a good spray
