In short any other springs other than the correct ones from MB could give you grief. MB are not expensive for these

In fact when I priced up some springs for a W202 Estate last year, the Mercedes prices were cheaper than ECP, even before the 10% discount! After some haggling ECP agreed to price match the MB prices! Guess where I purchased my springs from in the end?
