Had a look to see if this has been asked before but could not find any threads.

Our estate is elegance spec which I think means comfy and wallowy ride, I'm assuming avantgarde is firm with sporty pretensions?

How do you sensibly upgrade is it new shocks, springs, both or other bits of suspension that need changing?

Basically I want the car to feel less like a barge when going round a corner. Thus far since buying I've replaced the rear suspension struts and springs to elegance spec but I need to do the front shocks.

Would appreciate a better understanding on this from the experts.

Thanks

Paul

If you've done the rear, I think all you need to do is to replace the front shocks and springs. However, MB springs are specced for the options on any car, so you need to be certain that the new springs are for a car with exactly the same equipment as your own.

I knew this would be an education, car has 16" wheels and runs on pirelli p7's

rear springs were spec'ed for the vin and are oem.

A bigger wheel with a lower profile will give a firmer ride as there is less rubber/air between the car and the tarmac
