Hi all, I’m looking at buying a 2004 W211, it looks to be a good and well looked after car but the seller has said they replaced the battery recently after it had gone flat (they were out of the country for 6 weeks) and since then the stereo has been dead. They say they assume it’s probably just a fuse (which I find hard to believe someone would not bother to check for such a simple repair).
Does this sound like a probably outcome or is there something else known that could make it a good easy repair/nightmare expensive repair?
If it’s likely that it is a dead system are they replaceable with aftermarket units? I have a Sony Apple CarPlay unit from my old Jaguar I could fit if so.
I just don’t want to buy it and find that the command can’t be fixed or replaced aftermarket and requires an expensive replacement unit!
