W211 E280 knock/clunk

hi guys,

basically got a knock coming from the front left when going over bumps.

before its on the ramp any ideas what i should be looking for or what it could be?

It literally could be anything.

I had this problem a couple of months back. I was convinced it was the shock that had failed but after a good inspection by m/b Newcastle it turned out it was the oil filled thrust arm bush. It didn't show any signs of handling performance being affected but sounded horrible going over speed bumps. Luckily I was still under warranty or I would still be pulling my pants up from round my ankles.

sounds like a pain and something out of the ordinary.

i'll keep this is mind if nothing else is found.

Did you have any joy with the diagnosis of your clunk...

the garages later the issue has finally been found by a mate who owns a tyre/exhaust place the culprit is a worn out bush on the suspension arm.

this a good replacement?

Personally I'd say go for a lemforder or trw arm

thanks for the heads up mate, any where else other can ECP sell the lemforder arms?

can this be a DIY job or best left to a professional?
