W211 E320CDI staright 6 de-cat

Hi all, apologies if this has already been posted somewhere. I have a 2004 W211 e320cdi straight 6. I was looking to remove the Cat behind the turbo and either gut or replace with straight pipe. Apart from an MOT fail from a visual check, would it likely fail on emissions & would this type of mod trigger the engine management light?. Thanks all.

Unlikely to fail on emissions, and I don’t think it would trigger a light, think the oxygen sensor on a diesel is just for EGR control not for monitoring catalyst function.

Better to make it look like it’s still there ( ie gut it)

Or better still just leave it as is!!
