Good evening all.

I have a glow plug light that illuminates shortly after starting the engine for some time . Starting is fine regardless of temperature but I will replace it.

Would anyone now how the plugs are numbered in each bank?

Many thanks 👍

Same as the cylinder numbers,123 on the left looking at it from the front. Watch out though as they snap easily and can be a pig to get out.

Can’t help with the order but when my mechanic did this job he found they were seized in, he used a spray called ‘plus gas’ to free it. Worth a look. :) He sprayed it in and told me to come back a few days later and it came out ok.

Unless they were all changed in the last couple of years might be worth doing all 6

What would be the advantage? (Genuinely curious)

I know that they can be "difficult"

I bought this :Screenshot_20230329_173710_Chrome.jpg

Assuming all were fitted at the same time then they are likely to fail around the same time.

Thanks.

Is that 1, 2, 3 from the firewall?

1 being closest to the firewall and 3 closest to the radiator and the same for the right bank with 6 being closest to the radiator?

My understanding is that they gradually all lose efficiency over time , the cdi engines also use the plugs not just at start up .
Also if you have to take the batwing off and change the orange turbo seal because you disturbed it you might as well change all the plugs .
A failed glow “can “ also take out the Gp relay module when it goes .
Obviously people’s budgets vary , so not everyone will want to change them all . I wouldn’t either if I’d very recently changed the rest and one went again .

Interesting :) thanks for that.

Other way round. No 1 is on the front of the left bank looking from the front of the car. No 4 on the front of the right bank.

Thank you for the clarity.
