I gave my E320 a regular check over today. I noticed that the radiator fan was not working after a cold start. I waited for the engine to warm up to 80 degrees and the fan was still not working.

Is the fan meant to come on when the engine warms up?

No, the fan kicks in at a higher temp, when you reach close to 100 or over i think, but not too sure. Someone else can confirm for sure.

Mine is not working at all and car now when outside temps higher going to limp mode...hope its just switch

Just found a problem with my e320 .. Water had got into the electrics plug to the fan and corroded the contacts away .. Need a new fan = £365 + fitting + vat :(

Can you not create a plug of your own??
Seriously if all that's wrong is a corroded plug then chop it out and add another..
Has the fan been tested by applying voltage directly?
If it works then save your money and get an auto electrician to add a male / female plug..

Just thinking to myself.. Do you mean the connection is directly within the fan motor?
If so then I guess none of me previous statement will be valid.

It's the plug that is at the top of the rad on the left. I was thinking of chopping it out but didn't really want to ruin the loom, but it's certainly the cheaper option. I think that I may be able to just get the cable from the top of the rad to the fan itself separately so will talk to a dealer tomorrow.

Im looking .. Not found anything yet though
