Get the drive belt replaced at the same time, it has to come off to change the pump and the belts are cheap. Do not forget to factor in replacement coolant.

Only brands stocked by ECP are circoli and AirTex. Not heard good things about circoli, do you know who the OEM supplier is?

GSF : Water Pump, an SKF drive belt is around £15 from ECP with the current offer, I would be tempted to change that unless it is very recently replaced. Also, whilst the coolant is drained I would look at changing the thermostat

I had a genuine MB water pump fitted to my C320 and that was around £75 for the part.

Now to find a decent mechanic who is capable of doing this operation for me!
Without costing me a small fortune.
Fed up with Main dealer prices.

It is a simple job. Surely you are not using main dealers on a 15 year old car?

Easy job. Just get the bolts back in the same place as there are a few different lengths and don't over-tighten. I put a tad of hylomar blue.

SKF or HEPU are good but if genuine is only £75 that's a no brainer.

Don't get a circoli!!!

The genuine pump I bought for my 190E was SKF but the original pump on the CLK didn't have anything stamped on it apart from the part number. Maybe made by MB themselves? I got an SKF anyway.

Hi Guys, after a lot of worrying over the weekend!
I was quoted £194 for original water pump from MB, and had to be ordered from Germany! Takes a week.
Can’t wait for that long as using car.
Opted for pump supplied by Merc Specialist locally, and his labour, £160!!
Being fitted tmrw, takes an hour.
Hopefully be back on the road.

Good news, is it sorted now?

Ok so I had the pump replaced yesterday, by a lovely local Merc company.
All seems ok.
Was told to check the water tank this morning and top up if needed?
I was about 400ml short??
So I topped up.
Will check again later, hoping the level is ok??
Is this normal?

Probably just air voids in the system being expelled after a run to fully warm the engine up leading to a drop in level. Nothing to worry about provided it doesn't continue to require top ups. I assume your merc specialist used the correct water/antifreeze mix to fill the system post repair.

Help?
Do you know if there should be a bolt through every hole on this water pump???

It was about 400ml short the first morning, then about 150ml short today?
When looking at the new pump, I can see a hole with NO bolt??
