Hi!

I've got a w212 E250 that's fairly relaxed in the roll dept!

The bushes all look in good/tight condition, the bars still have the original paint, shocks/springs are new.

Do any of the AMG/Sports option pack cars come with thicker ARB's that can be retrofitted?

Regards

:-)

If you do that you will increase the front understeer and possibly make the car rock from side to side unpleasantly on country roads.
Use this online EPC to look for alternate roll-bars :

Thanks for that and yes if I was mad enough to do the front ARB on it’s own you’d be correct but I’d intend to either do the rear first or do them as a pair.
I did look at 7zap but it doesn’t list the diameters on it, just the differing part numbers (which doesn’t really help)
😊

Takes me into the correct diagram with parts numbers but not the enhanced description from your link
Thanks for that

You don’t need to mess about with the ARB .Put a set of Eibach springs and Bilstein B8 dampers in it. You’ll be sorted.

Thanks for that
Good experiences with that combo on other cars but don’t want to compromise the ride quality of the car. Any views in that from anybody?

It will be firmer but much more controlled. If I drI’ve our 212 everyday I would have done straight away.

I have a pre-facelift E350 w212 sport and while it doesn't roll much at all (and the ride is actually a bit crap/firm on the stock 18s), it understeers unless you really boot the accelerator. Can't fight the long car with the heavy diesel engine, but I have always wondered if there was anything simple that could help it feel a little less understeer-y...?

That was my thinking re the rear ARB, stiffening up the rear end means more weight tracker at the front, ergo less understeer

:)
