Hi guys.
I am new in this forum. my question is;
I have nox sensor problem on my car and i would like to repair it but my mechanic saying to me, when we change the one of the sensor we must change another sensor as well and it needs both sensor software updating.
Does it right or not?

Because i am gonna claim from my car warranty and it might be warranty company doesn't want to pay without faulty part payment.

I need your suggest and idea.

Thanks.

Kind Regards.

Almost always after one faulty Nox sensor has been replaced, the other one goes faulty shortly after (could be days, weeks or maybe months)

This is incorrect advice.

Only the faulty one requires changing. The other one may go in a few weeks, a few months or anything up to 5 years so there is no need to change both at the same time. The software does need updating however

If you want to see the issue then look on YouTube and search for Enka Motors (they are based on North London). They are awesome a fixing knacked rocker arms on OM654 engines and adblue issues. I am 99% sure that they have done a video on replacing both NOx sensors (one is by the SCR at the front of the engine and the other is under the turbo). It is a very easy job once you sort access to the lower one and should be plug and play without software updates (on 654 engined 205/213 series cars).

But if its under waranty and claimable then just give it to MB or the appointed garage and let them sort - it's what you've paid your money for?
