A pro could polish that up nicely....and tbh I would just get one to do it, than risk making it worse dude.

Yes, Scratch X is a bit of a 'laymans' approach, this product would be a bit more specialised

I changed my piano black to the Ashwood, yes a touch expensive from the dealers, changed it over myself, so saved on labour charge, looks so much better in my opinion, and no more scratches or dust to deal with.

There is a thread on the American forum, with so many pages, many have done it, and showing step by step video on how to remove and fit a new one.

UPDATE

So I bought the 205 UF Polish but decided not to apply it immediately for fear of making it worse. Instead, I bought some random piano black trim from a breaker on ebay (from a Mini). It was scuffed and scratched. I've tested the 205 UF Polish on it and it worked wonders. It's removed - or significantly improved - the scratches and looks more or less perfect. Took several goes, but got better each pass.

So I'm going to give it a go on my E Class as soon as I get time. I'll perhaps make a new thread, with before - during - after photos.
