Hi All
Had both batteries replaced couple of months ago and today after car being left for 36 hours the car is stone cold dead. No life in it at all. Before I call a tow truck I though I would try to a) trickle charge and/or b) jump start from either car or one of those jump start batteries things that I have tucked away somewhere. The manual suggests I am OK jumping it but I also wonder if I connect my CTEK to it it would show whether there is any residual life in the battery at all, or if it has charge then I have a much more expensive problem. Question is do i connect the CTEK in the same way it shows to connect jump leads (ie to the covered terminal and an earth point)? Would it need connecting to the battery terminals themselves? Finally can I do damage with a jump start battery (one of those small handheld ones good for one or two bursts - I have used it fine on older cars but don´t want to add frying anything to the cost of repair......)
