W2O2 Won't stay running

I have a C-240 Sport (2.4 V6) 1999 estate and recently it died on me one minute driving fine then nothing. After about 10 mins it will start again and drives absolutely fine but only for 500 yds. After having sat for 2 weeks (been installing a new kitchen and had no time) it started straight away but would only run for 1 minute 26 secs. After that if I leave it for 30 mins it will start again but will not run for any longer.

I removed the air filter and also tried disconnecting the Airflow regulator but no difference so all I can think is it's fuel starvation.

Any opinions would be very gratefully received.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Iain

So you don't think fuel starvation or filter or something simple like that. It's never been a problem before, just they're cheaper options and we all like to save money.

How good are these STAR machines at pinpointing problems, I've seen them mentioned on this forum many times.

Thanks again Rob

Got the torx screw out from the CPS and was hoping that the CPS would just pull out but it's jammed in there real tight. Anyone got any magic ways to remove these things ? I'm soaking it in penetrating oil but it's real difficult to move even with a big screwdriver at the side.

Thanks Rob

Perseverance is the key. Try soaking it in Coca Cola over night. Wiggle back and forth and try to get a slim blave under it. Failing that you may need to remove the gearbox to attack it from underneath.

Thanks for the tips I will try that. Hopefully it don't go as far as taking the gearbox out
