Are you asking whether an extended warranty you have purchased will cover the fault? If so then try calling the extended warranty team.

Or are you suggesting that Mercedes extended the new car warranty to cover a specitic fault. If so then that would be very unusual, where did you find out about it?

According to what iv seen and read mercedes have extended the warranty as its a know fault admittedly most of the talk I can find is either usa Canada etc I was looking for information on uk merc

Ps it's not the car warranty they extended its a parts warranty as they know it's a fault

I would be surprised if that applies to the UK (assuming that you’re in the UK). Contact Mercedes-Benz UK Customer Services, they will confirm.

So you're asking about a 'goodwill'? MB do not extend warranties for known issues, instead what they do is offer either a free repair, or a partial contribution, but in all cases it is classed by them as 'goodwill' rather than 'warranty', and it's at their discretion. You'll need to take the car to a dealer, and ask them.

That's are different in the US, though, especially in cases where MB USA have been taken to court by consumers.

BTW, re 'parts warranty', in the UK it is 2 years, but it applies to parts purchased from the dealership's parts counter, not to parts fitted to the car at the factory.
