Watch out for the steering colmn fault !

Just had my steering column checked ( needs replacing ) after 15000 miles on my 64'plate
W205 ... It causes a humming sound when turning the wheel ... And don't worry peeps it's covered by the warranty !

I seem to recall that there was a recall for a steering column problem about a year ago - or am I dreaming?

My car did not get a recall for this before ...?
But it's being done as we speak I also got them to swop tyres around for me... the W205 is going through her rear tyres quicker then you would expect it seems
