Water Ingress

Hello All,

During yesterdays heavy rain in the highlands, i drove through a rather large puddle (2 foot deep almost!) and today noticed there is water in both fog lights.

Anyone know the best way of getting the water out? Do the lenses come off easily?

Might help if we all knew what car you have mate as it does not appear in your "User CP".

ok i just went outside to have a look and it seems theres no access from underneath or through the bonnet. Theres nothing in the manual, not even about how to get at the bulb to change it.

is the only way to get at it by removing the bumper? If so anyone know how?

Switch them on. The heat will evaporate the water but may leave a mottled residue.

To release the splash tray you need to turn all the way left, undo as man clips and screws in the wheel arch and then all the way right and do the other side.

Pull out two mushroom clips from the bottom of the bumper and the panel falls out. It is really a hoist job if you dont want to spend all that time fiddling with putting it all back in (not fun).

Thanks for the information. it turns out today i have to go to Inverness next week on business so rather than fiddle with it myself, i asked the ealer to do it for me. And, they intend to do it for free which is rather nice of them. I know they are referred to as Stealerships, however the Inverness dealer, John R Weir, are extremely good and highly recommended.
