Took Dad to Brooklands museum for his birthday , all very nice , Dad really enjoyed himself.

While we were there there was a Mazda owners meet , there was the usual predictable 'Fast and the Furious' type stuff with colour coded hoses in the engine bay putting out nine million horsepower that you would expect..... and then a little beauty tucked off to one side ....

A 1972 RX4 ! with a flip paint job .... so cool.

Anyway , after Brooklands we popped into MBWorld next door and sat in the sun drinking lattes and watching the 63's doing their stuff before going inside.

They have a new exhibit , a race car hung ( in component parts ) by wires . Just stunning ....

A good day out all in all.

We're there again next week, 12 yr old son has a 4x4 experience booked

That RX4 is a peach. Thanks for sharing.

Today I saw something even rarer, and even older, and also has a blue/red flip.

We went to Stonehenge today, where the bluestone turns red when rainwater reacts with the iron in the stone!!

I was at my friends house earlier, heard something fruity start up. Looked out the window and that car was pulling out of a drive a couple of houses down. Looks lovely in the sun.

That's a coincidence and a half!! Put some lottery on, quick.

That RX4 is nice, very nice. Sort of Mustang, Capri GTO.

Now where is my Smokie and The Bandit DVD. The best line anywhere. "Just sh*t and shove it under the door"

Did you notice the race car is an eight cylinder engine with a ten cylinder exhaust manifold?

I'm afraid i didn't notice it ... :o

I wonder if M-B still have any rotary-engined R107's which they experimented with around that same time , before deciding that the rotor seals of the day were not reliable enough for a Mercedes ?

Forum does not like to print the name of Dr Felix W a n k e l for some reason !

It’s a tough job…..

But someone has to do it!
I’m ‘having’ to go to Mercedes World at Brooklands tomorrow and I’ll probably be ‘forced’ to drive some AMG cars around for the afternoon…..:D
The invite comes form one of my race drivers who happens to be an instructor there and owes me a favour…..I’ll cope!
Last month I also put a deposit down on a brand new car due for delivery in June. It will not be a replacement, but an addition to the current fleet with one major difference, there is no three pointed star on this car.
Shall we have another game of ‘can you guess what it is yet’?
It’s not a diesel (shock!), it is an auto, it has a turbo and does up to (allegedly!) 64mpg.....any ideas?:o

I forgot to mention but there is also a Brabus Black Series Unimog there as well.

I also completely forgot to take any pictures of it :o

Has a carbon fibre dash and embroidered seats , which was all i could see as you weren't allowed to climb on it !
