Hi all. I,ve been trying to fix the leaking on the front passenger side of my CLK230. The water is coming in through the air blower and the floor below is soaking wet.
I have done the obvious thing like clearing the rubber bung in the plastic bulkhead inside the engine compartment and cleaned and tightened everything I can think of around that area but it still leaks when it rains. I cant think of anything else it could be but the water is coming in somewhere. Can anyone help as it,s driving me nuts.

There’s nothing for it but to open up the plastic heater intake plenum under the bonnet. It’ll involve removing the two grille covers either side of the wiper mechanism, all of the phillips head screws underneath those grilles, and prising the plastic clips all around the lower periphery to get the big top piece off. Once it’s opened you’ll find the blockage.

Thanks. I,ve does that, put it all back and it still leaks. Any other ideas?

Maybe check for rust perforation in the nearside footwell then, particularly up the side. Sadly, not uncommon.

Thanks. there,s no rust there thankfully. The water was definately coming through the blower vent. I,ve just cleaned everything, put some sealant in possible leak sources and put it all back. I,ll go to the local car wash to test it, Cheers
