What’s happening here then?

This morning i got in my 300TE 4-Matic.

I turned the ignition key. All the dash lights came in order & the engine started on the first turn of the key.

Worse follows. When I moved the gear leavery thingy into ‘D’ the car started wanting to move the car in a forwards direction.

A quick lie down in my nice toasty leather seats made me feel like I pissed my pants.

What in heavens name is wrong here? I’m sick of it working when asked.
