What’s this red key?

Does anyone know what the red fob/key is used for and where it goes, found it in my boot today.

It’s the alarm key - I have same in my W140 . Covered in the manual - there’s a small socket in drivers A pillar near bottom door hinge .

Thank you, I’ll dig out the manual. Was cleaning the car and found the key but hadn’t seen one before. Thanks again
 
There should be a red one and a black one , it did say not to leave the red one in the car .
