Hey guys,
I have a couple of spare air intake boxes for my 63 engine.
I was looking at the inside of the top boxes and had a look at the design and black funnel that is in there.
So I had a little mess about with it.
It seemed to me that the back plastic component could be quite restrictive, regarding the volume/ direction that the air was being sucked.
So I removed the black plastic piece to see how it would be without it.
What are your thoughts?
Is it possible that air could be sucked through the filter in a more broad manner?
Removing the black plastic piece does not effect the structure of the air box at all, and would still be sealed when bolted in place.
But could the efficiency of the air induction be effected after the funnel design is removed.. causing turbulent air perhaps?
