What does this switch do?

I have a 2004 CLK. I’ve found a switch and I can’t figure out what it’s for!
In the centre console storage box there is a light grey sliding switch. It’s on the left hand side panel, towards the front. What is it for??

Its an aircon flap to cool cans of pop etc. If im right ?
