What extras does this e class have

I think a clue is in the delivery date of 15/08/03  ;) I would hazard a guess at it being 2003.

Might not have sold and been registered until 2006 though , you cant go off the build date even more so when its a August or March date.

Option 600 is NOT a wiper\washer it is a very smart headlamp pressure washer (no wiper) The whole list is a joke.
This is not true. There is only one option code for headlamp wash and you're looking at it! A certain amount of interpretation is required for option codes plus they are originally written in German then translated into English (or perhaps into Russian and then English in the case of that website) consequently they don't always make sense.

The list of option codes is pretty long, they do not add codes for minor variations if the variations are not available on the same model. Headlamp wash is wash/wipe on some cars and probably going back decades option 600 has meant the same thing :)

To me this looks like a 53 reg E320 Cdi Avantgarde saloon with Pano. roof, full nappa leather and through loading.

Apart from that nothing more than standard Avantgarde equipment of the time.

What Car valuation (excluding options)

:D :D Your wriggling :) The E-class was a made to order vehicle and yes it might have been ordered by a dealer but it would still very probably have ben registered straight way.

Our vehicle had a build date of Januarfy 2004 and was registered February 2004.

I hate being the bearer of bad news but....... Kam's vehicle will not have the latest paintwork technology (nano top coating) plus if I were thinking about buying his vehicle I would either insist on a glycol test, ask to see if it has had a new radiator, or horse trade on the asking price.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but these are great cars, but they need spoiling and all the service improvements need to have been carried out. The good news is that this car will have features that later 211's will not have. (The penny pinchers struck in the summer of 2004)

so if i was to say i pick up this car for around £13-13.5k is not a bad price

Just spoken to Mercedes Benz in Bradford who sold this car to the current buyer just over a year ago. It has been to them for the last 3 services and before that it was serviced at Mercedes Benz Birmingham. It has had all the current upates/factory recalls, confirmed by Mercedes Benz them self.
They have also confirmed all the mileage. So in the history department all matches up

Hi Shude,
I'm not sure where your coming from   I very simply said the description givern by the site was incorrect. I don't really care how the translation was carried out and all I said was that the 211 did not have a wiper to clear the headlights. That to me is a fact and hopefully is accepted as such. I totally agree the car has a headlamp washer system and stated such which is option 600. :) :)

Kam
If your in contact with the main dealers then I would recommend you ask if the radiator has been replaced as this can be a major cause for concern.

Do a search for Glycol test :)

My E class was made to order for a dealer and sold as a used car does that count as made to order if so every car is made to order.

Mine has a build date of the 20 June and was registered on the 27 June if it had been built in july i bet it wouldnt have been registered until August

There is £500 difference between a 03 and a 53 reg car yet may only be 1 days difference in the date of registration

:) Yup,
For the UK market every E-class that was produced had already been sold, I think that might be a better way of explaining it. Far better to look for plus points in a post rather than dissect it for discrepancies in the minute detail. :) :) I think lots of manufacturers churn out cars which then go into huge fields where they might sit for months or in extreme cases maybe even longer. ALL UK ordered 2003/4 E-class were made to order and were despatched imediately to the buying dealer. I have no idea if this is still the case but I would guess it is?

I fully support your points about buying this car. It sounds an attractive buy, but I would sort out the radiator query and make sure it comes with a decent warranty, plus I would also consider a ServicePlus warranty dependant on mileage etc. :)

John

will speak to Mercedes in relation to the radiator change and glycol test. Will update soon

have spoken to Mercedes and all mercedes benz recalls have been done, and also as mentioned the car was sold to the current owner by mercedes themself, that have said all servicing has been done by them.

Have bought the car, picked it up this sunday and have been very happy with that. Managed to get the car for a very very good price after hours of bargaining with the owner. Have it booked in for a service this saturday with mercedes benz
