started the car today got down the road, and went to overtake someone, so put my foot right down, started to overtake and got a warning malfunction f.p.c ( i think ) all of a sudden my car cut out. i had no choice but to pull over, switched off and restarted and it was fine . can someone shed some light on this ?

Was the electrics still going etc when it cut out or did it just go completely dead as if there was no power?
