...a rental..not saying what !
I'm looking at changing the wheels on my CLK, found some 2nd hand AMG 'monoblock' (what ever that means) and they are marked with

7 1/2 J x 17 H2 ET42, HWA 124 401 03 02

How do I find out whther they will fit or not?...preferably without taking the current ones off (only beink lazy)

Thx

The ET on these wheels is 42 The ET you need for your car is 35 (offset) You would need to modify these wheels with spacers to fit your car.

If you are fitting AMG's to your car , if you can , go for a staggered set.

If you go 17 inch , you need to look for an offset of 37 for the front wheels and 30 for the rear .

Thanks everyone,

So the 'ET' is the offset..thanks. I assumed that the 124 bit some how related to the model of car they were originally fitted to...seems so.

I assumed with a staggered set (I think that the 430 came with these) the suspension geometry would somehow be different to take this into account (i.e I assumed that they wouldnt fit my car)..

It seems that there are more staggered ( i.e from a 430) sets available than non-staggered, so maybe this is the right way to go.

Only the CLK 55 came with a staggered set as standard , you could spec the AMG alloys on any of the CLK models though.

The 430's came with 17 inch wheels as standard , but weren't staggered. 320's and 230's came with 16's.

124 is indeed the model number of car that they came from. IIRC the w208 CLK uses AMG alloys with a 202 model number as it shares the same chassis as the w202 .
