Car
c class 200 K w204
I bought this 2012 C204 C180 five days ago, every day its had some sort of issue, its a really nice car in excellent condition inside and out, the engine and gearbox are good also wheels and tyres and only done 63,000 miles. last night i was all for sending it back and getting my C class back that never missed a beat, but today (so far) it been behaving its self. the dealer is all for getting it sorted but i'm in two minds ??? don't want to get rid as these things can be fixed and at no cost to me, except i'll have to get the loud exhaust sorted (if I ever find a standard one) its booked in for a scan at my local garage in two weeks and hopefully get to the bottom of its issues.
what would you guys do ?

I had a car like this once and TNH wish I had just sent it back when I had the chance. It forever gave me problems - just niggling ones but still a pain. My vote is get a refund - your ideal car will be out there somewhere.

That voice in your head is there for a reason

I had many little problems with my first ever MB is 2004 - the car was purchased from a main dealer like all of my cars. The car spent the first few months visiting the dealer several times - mainly the suspension, it was a 180 petrol auto a year old. Once the car settled, it was A1.
Then I got my second C 180, upgraded to the Avantgarde - that too was a year old - several niggles and then the car never missed a beat. I did around 7/8k miles a year 50% local/work etc and the other 50% on the m-ways. From year 3 all I had done was oil and filter change.

Even the brand new gle I bought in 2016 - still have it covered less than 24k miles - that missed a serious heartbeat when it was about 3 months old IIRC - the rad water dropped and I got a warning light. Took it to MB while I waited and the mechanic who was vastly experienced, spent over two hours checking everything - it was "air in the sytme" - never had a problem with it after that.

Good luck either way.

bit of an update, spoke to the garage and they will pick up the car and repair it (and do something with the noisy exhaust) the car is worth it and i do want to keep it, they will leave me with another car to use so i'm not without wheels. they do seem very helpful and apologetic.

Nice to find garage who stand by their product.

Even if you take it back the garage are under no legal obligation to give your PX back. We traded in my wife's 99 SLK for a EOS....nothing but trouble and leaks for a fortnight.......spent a week of that at the VW dealer....but even they could not sort it. We went back and asked to reject it and get the SLK back as it had not been sold. He gave us the full amount we had paid...but refused to give us the SLK.....as the law was on his side we had to accept. As it turned out the dealer we bought the A Class from later would not have taken the old SLK in PX anyway so it worked out fine in the end.

the boss did say they don't really give refunds but i think at a push he would of done, i don't want to lose the car so if it gets fixed I'll be happy.

What the "boss" said is irrelevant!!....its the law!!:)👍

If a fault occurs during the first 30 days, the dealer has one chance to put the car right before the buyer is entitled to a full refund.

From the OP's post, it's not clear if the car has already been back to the dealer or not.

Not if its within 30 days.....you can just reject it for any fault you see fit.....even for the slightest bit of miss-describing....like one owner turns out to be two....or FSH missed a brake fluid change......anything at all.
