my n/s main beam bulb went the other night so I went to change it and when i was removing the old bulb it split in two leaving the prong inside the slot. on closer inspection it looks as if the bulb was soldered or glued in there, it's not coming out. what are my options? i was going to change headlight unit to crystal head-lights some-time in the future, if i do that just now would i get a new wiring loom as part of the light unit or is it just the casing you get?

I suspect the new headlamp will come with some sort of loom. It has probably melted on to the back of the unit.

Maybe had 100 watt bulbs fitted, caused the melting?
