Looks good. I am thinking if getting the centres of my new wheels done in similar sort of colour.
The only thing is it's the safe obvious option if you know what I mean and so many cars now have same sort of colour. I'm now starting to think of other alternatives! BUT will probably come back to a gunmetal colour in the end as I will bottle out of doing something a bit different!

I totally agree that it's the obvious choice but think there's only two other choices than standard for a silver car, black or gun metal. Unless your brave enough to do what some of the boys in the states on mb world do and go for red or yellow lol.

That's the problem. My car is silver too and as you say generally it really comes down to silver or black or some tone in-between. My new wheels are split rims (BBS LM's) so I guess I have a few more options as the lips are polished, I'm not sure I'm brave enough, but I am considering a really (and I mean really) dark metallic sort of blood red (sort of almost black). My brother is a car painter so he is bringing me a swatch of the dark candy colours to have a look at. I will prob end up with gunmetal though
BBS have a finish called diamond black which is actually a really nice gunmetal sort of colour / finish. It's the nicest I've seen and has real depth to it but it isn't actually a colour reference as it turns out to be a 3 stage paint system. I'm probably getting this the wrong way round but I think the base is silver and then there's a mist coat of black over the top and then lacquered. Have a look at some BBS images and you will see what I mean.
Well I think I'm gonna go for it ( gun metal ) I haven't used my car in around 3 months but last time I used it I didn't wash it and the salt on the road has wormed its way into the laquer so something's gotta be done cos it's spoiled my Christmas lol
