Wheel Dilemma

I'm wanting to change the wheels on my C250td (w202) elegance.
I only want to go to 16" rims no bigger & am defiantly not going to lower the car or change any of the suspension (I like the soft, comfy feel too much).

I'm not really into a lot of the standard merc wheels & agree that some of them can look really good I haven’t really found any that suit the car in my opinion so far.(other than the standard sport wheels etc)
I tried some Cygnus 16 wheels on it the other day & was really disappointed with the way they looked.

I've now started looking into some aftermarket wheels.

I will post a few photos (from the manufacturers sites so apologies for the quality) to see what other people thought.
I have a couple of favourites amongst the ones bellow and think that they suit the car (my car is emerald black not as in the pics btw) but thought I would see what everyone else thought.

Any thoughts on the above & any other ideas of styles (in 16”) for the w202?

I like the 1st pic and the 3rd pic :)

I must admit that one of my favourites out of the ones above are the OZ hydras.
I'm not sure if the size of them 7.5 et35 would cause any problems. (I plan to fit the wheels with 205/55 16s). I don’t want them fouling the front arches etc.

I also quite like these but they are a bit unconventional.

Go for the OZ Hydra, really nice. In case please evaluate to lower a bit the car

Following on from the above decided to go for the OZ Hydras only to be told there is no stock in the country & after they checked they are not expecting any stock in the correct size in foreseeable future.:(

After doing a bit more looking round I found a few more possible candidates.

I have to admit that out of the above Borbet wheels (all of which are in stock:D ) my favourites are the Borbet TA.

Anybody agree or have any other ideas?

I hate choosing wheels as they have such a impact on the way the car looks:o

Have you tried the many shops on ebay that sell genuine and replica wheels and tyres at some pretty good prices?
Although I agree it helps an awful lot to see the wheels on a car to help make a decision.
Good luck.

I liked the last ones - seems similar to the wheels on the new Cclass W204 sport

The Borbet TA look like the ones on my dads E class and also 'look' oem so I would stick with something like them.

I had borbet's on a Mazda MX5 years ago and the wheels condition was great even after a few years.

Cheers

The TA look the best out of that lot.

What is the correct offset for a W202 on 7.5" rims? I only ask as the W208 uses offset ET41 doesn't it, the same as E class?
I wonder what a set of W211 Ruchas would look like and obviously they would be OEM.

When I sold my W202 I had fitted 7.5Jx16 ET41 alloys and they looked and drove fine. I'm sure the Ruchas would look great on a 202.

Sorry double post..

Not sure if you have considering Ruchas Quantum but have a look at Frenchy's gallery - He has the Rucha style wheels on (although they are 18" but you get the idea).

I'm about to change my 16" Cygnus alloys for 17" Cygnus. If I had the choice I would go for a nice set of 17" Ruchas for my E320. I think they look the nuts.

The Borbet TA's arrived today fitted with 205 55 16 Michelin pilot primacy tyres.:D

I'm going to get them fitted over the weekend if I get time or maybe early next week.

Photos of them fitted to car to follow.;)

A quick photo of my car with the wheels on.

Excuse my rampant strawberry plants in the foreground:o .(Its going to be a good crop this year:D )
I will get some better photos of the car & the wheels & post it in the gallery at some point in the near-ish future;) .

Could it be possible to get Mercedes center caps they would add the iceing on the cake ?
