SLS and G K8 Brabus
Hi there, I'm currently looking to buy a set of winter wheels/tyres for my G55. At the moment I have Brabus 22" so not really a good idea to have 295 tyres on these wheels for snow use.

Does anybody know a good source to buy original 19/20" AMG wheels?

I would be interested only in the original design, as Brabus apart, don't like anything else aftermarket.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Max

Money is always object!! ;)

Given I'm going to use it possibly only once I wanted to find a cheap source...I'm familiar with Alloy Wheels Direct, but was wondering if there is a cheaper way to buy these... :(

@ MaxT - slightly off topic but would love to see pics of your SLS and G!

@ sinewave - back on topic. That site looks very good value. Do you know anyone that has used them before so we can get some feedback on service? Considering getting some for my G too.

Pm ALX as he has a set of original mint 20" Brabus alloys with tyres that you could get a set of winters to fit...He had these on his Kleeman ML. Far cheaper than new and 20" tyres are cheaper than 22" :-)

I'm afraid not but the yanks are big in to modifying Mercs so I can't see there being any more of a problem with them than any UK supplier.

They do export to the UK so waz em an email and see. :thumb:

ML and G wagon are different stud pattern as far as i know.

ML being the standard MB 5 x 112. G being similar to sprinter vans around 5 x 130...

It really does limit your choice of wheels i'm afraid.

That's what I knew as well...I guess I have only one choice then! :(

Thank you all for your inputs here!

My german not too good...these are replicas I guess? Might work perfectly for what I need to do (odd trip to the alps..) and 19" even better then 20"!

Thank you vm for the link!! ;)

Hey Shakter, I posted some pic in the new members area!! :thumb:

For winter tires why not the 18x9.5 et50 with 285/55/18 that came stock on the 2005 G55K.

Probably not so easy to source in the UK as the G was not really sold.
Alloy Wheels Direct as previously posted has a set of 4 for 2464 sterling....about $4K USD...

Available in the USA for about $500.00 each :thumb:

Some EBAY USA listings...without the tires shipping to the UK would not be so bad considering your exchange rate advantage and less then Alloy Wheels Direct!
