when is...

Graham, as it is in the town centre, partners may wish to come along and spend a few hours shopping. Might get a really good turn out that way.

Lets do it to a time that we can ALL come, no excuses.

It would be good to have as many turn up as possible but holidays will get in the way for certain.

Lets run a poll with some dates in July and see which one is most popular.

Vinny, can you set that up or tell me how to do it please?

Thanks.

Yes, plus Woking is a 500+ mile round trip, why are GTGs always in the south?

Ok, all round to Shudes then!
Erm! Parking could be a problem! I bet I could borrow the local primary school's carpark and facilities though, I know people who know people, you know? :)

It's a good point. Perhaps we need to split it North and South this time.

A GTG in Lancashire somewhere and one in Surrey.

I would not go any further than Birmingham and I am sure those in the North would not go south of Manchester either. I think we need to be practical next time round.

No no no! It should be ONE GTG, not two. So far every GTG has been south of Birmingham and people from the North have been there. I don't mind travelling to a gtg (Been to Germany and The Netherlands for GTGs! ) and for the Cotswolds meet last year and the Northampton meet I drove to London first to drive in convoy with other members.

GTGs will always be closer to someone's house than everyone elses but it would be nicer if we could get all the people from all over the place to go. Kettering wasn't bad, but it's still a major trek for some people. Maybe it's time for some people to compromise and travel a little further this time? Just an idea but it would be nice to have everyone together in one place! :) I promise to mix more next time and not spend so much time ripping my car apart :)

I agree - one GTG is a much better idea

I will travel further if necessary - and I think the last trip to Northampton was well worth it

Unfortunately it seems that Northampton/Leicester is the middle of the country - and probably the fairest choice for a central location - but there are always going to be people from Scotland, the North East, South West that consider this area to be a long way away!

Possibly we need to take Jimmy up on his offer of abusing his hospitality for a second time - I think all who attended are in agreement that the last event was an unparalled success - and I can't really think of a better location anywhere in the country

BTW - That was a 250 mile + round trip for me as well, but part of the day was meeting up early and driving up in convoy.

Greg

Medway is definately a "south" meet, and I for one would not be able to attend on a weekday without booking a day off work - I can manage either Sat or Sun - but weekdays are unfortunately not viable for me - I need to work just so I can afford to keep the car !

That said - if there was enough interest in a mid week meet - I would take a single day off - just for the hell of it :)

er hello guys?

we had 2 cars travel from Holland so its no excuse where it is held.

Hey Guys, the only reason I mention my workplace at Woking is for the facilities and being slap bang in the town centre but only 10 minutes (max) from Junction 10 of the M25. Lots of space too.

It was a 240 mile round trip for me to Kettering and 2 hours each way. I simply feel that we would have an even better turn out if people did not have overly long trips (less that 2 hours each way). And, we might be able to encourage some fringe members along hence the need perhaps to have south and north GTG.

Question: do we have any idea of the split of members around the country? Is it possible to find out?

Perhaps, we simply don't have enough members willing to attend to make a split GTG worthwhile.

I'm all up for any weekend meet - and smaller local meets are great for getting to know people.

So I'll be there :)

I was just saying that "major" meets should be slightly more central to give everyone a better chance of attending

Agreed Mark.

Local meets would be good to get more people involved and then just maybe, they would come to a major GTG.
