Hi
New to the forum.....
I’ve got a 2019 450 GLE that had lovely Mercedes wing-mirror puddle lights that operated when unlocking the car.
Since I allowed my muppet of a brother-in-law to have a play with the settings in the car, they’ve disappeared!
Local dealer has no idea how to get them reactivated.
Any ideas please?
Thank You

You could start but looking for the option to reset the instrument cluster menu to factory default.

Then check the online owners manual... usually there either a Lighting or Convenience section in the menu.

Sounds like he has either switched of the locator lighting or the headlights are not set to Auto.

From my manual to save you reading yours:

If you switch on the Locator illumination function, the exterior lighting is switched on for a short time when it is dark. The light switch must be set to Auto; see the vehicle Owner's Manual.
The exterior lighting remains on for 40 seconds after the vehicle is unlocked. When you start the engine, the locator lighting is switched off and automatic headlamp mode is activated.
Call up Vehicle settings
To select Locator illumination : turn and press the controller.
Press the controller.

  • The function is switched on or off, depending on the previous status.

Thank you so much for your replies....
It appears that it was as Srdl suggested, headlights were not set to auto.
Feel like a bit of a c**k for not realising it was something so simple.
Thank you for saving me the torture of reading the manual.

And don't forget to give your
brother-in-law a small slap. :)

Thanks for the feedback. It’s so frustrating when you never hear anything further when you’ve tried to help with a problem.
