Hi All,

Hope you all are well.
Just wonder can we open the boot lid when driver and key are inside the car?
My car is C200 SE manufactured in 2019. I don't find the boot lid switch on driver's door, but manual mentions there is a switch (label-15 on the pic).

Any owner of C200 has same question?

Thanks,
Yong

I had a 2018 C200 SE, but no internal boot release switch. I don't think it's included on the SE trim level.

I think you can use the button on the key when you're inside the car. Other than that, no.

The spec of the SE does not include an internal boot release - as far as I know.

It did seem a bit cheap to be honest. It had the upgraded centre display, parktronic, all round parking sensors, satnav, voice control, electric seats & mirrors but no boot release :) However, I'd never had a car with it anyway, the times the car was dirty I just used the key to open the boot, as dirty & grit seems to accumulate on the manual button.

When I replaced my W203 with the W204, I realised that the W204 Executive SE didn't have the internal boot release button (which the W203 Classic SE did have).

A quick journey to Comand UK, and Richard retrofitted an original internal boot release switch (located on the W204 on the speaker housing on the driver's door).

If this feature is important to you, then you can check with Richard if it can be retrofitted to the W205.

After driving the W203 for 9 years, and frequently using this button, I found myself repeatedly reaching for it (in vain) on the W204, so I had it retrofitted.

But to be honest, if I didn't have it on the W203 beforehand, it wouldn't have occurred to me to have it retrofitted to the W204

It's an original switch, BTW, connected to the door controller, and I believe also coded to the Front SAM.
