Are they under the plastic engine coverings, which is where I think they are?

both are under the cover, The pump is at the front of the engine, and the filter should be on the top in the middle somewhere.

you will need to have a air hose to blowout the air lock when changing the fuel filter also change the o rings on the clips they warp and leak and the plastic pipes are sub standard and go brittle over time and check your fuel return pipe clips and o rings again sub standard plastic and o rings warp
not worth not changing the lot about £60 all in excl labour

Can you clarify what you mean by using an air hose to clear out the air lock
