I Loewe Old Skool AMG
Where do I buy these shox for my C43 AMG from UK?
Best price DEALS and shipping within EU?

I want the SPORT edition shox and not SPRINT!

Are these shox for the w208 CLK 430 better than for w202?
Can you get me the parts numbers for the CLK430/CLK55 AMG please.
Front and rear partsnumbers.
Thanks

Try Euro Car Parts, they are a distributor in the UK but don't be surprised if they are useless!

I can get the B8 shocks ( I have them on my C43) and they are brilliant)

They are around £100 each

Try ebay.de as well. I just bought a pair of brand new oem amg ones for the front of the 55 for approx £170 inc postage.

Thanks for the honest description!
They really suck when it comes to customer service for answering emails.
They blow big times!

Well I guess SPRINTS works with the factory AMG springs.
I'm going to buy lowering springs so maybe these SPRINT shox will not work in synergi with the new springs?

I checked there but there's different pricing and the parts numbers are fu--ed up for my C43?
I don't know if these are the correct numbers?
B6 SPORT FRONT:
F4-BE-A039 C+ CLK?
F4-BE3-2598 CLK55?
F4-BE3-2599 CLK55?

B6 SPORT REAR:
F4-B36-1855H0
F4-BE3-A040

Maybe the CLK shox are better?

thanks

Thanks for the info guys.
I checked the info about shox and I'm a little confused now!

Bilstein B6 SPORT edition shox
These are for cars with lowering springs like H&R and Eibach?

Bilstein B8 SPRINT edition shox
These are for factory setup springs like original AMG springs?

I read that SPRINT shox are shorter than SPORT edition shox?
So aren't these shox a better match with lowering aftermarket springs?
And SPORT shox match with factory springs better because they are longer?
I'm getting confused here.

If I decide to stick with my factory spring setup then should I go for SPRINT shox or SPORT shox from Bilstein?

Thanks

If you are going to get lower springs anyway why not get the complete kit from Bilstein? You would then have the correct pairing of shocks and springs and most Bilstein kits lower by 20 - 50mm

Damn! - You've got me thinking about doing a suspension mod now.....

Checked Billy's official site.
Doesn't sy anything about C36 and C43!
Nearest cars are CLK 430 and CLK55 AMG
Shox from these cars will fit my AMG? Right?

Sorry I didn't mean to get you hukked up on dope! :D
Can't afford to buy the complete setup, too rich for my blood!

The stance on my car looks pretty good the way it is factory setup.
It will be cheaper with new shox and no lowering springs.

The B6 SPORT shock absorber is an uprated shock absorber designed to replace the standard COMFORT spec. It will have similar dimensions and stroke/travel to the normal shock absorber.

The B8 SPRINT shock absorber is also an uprated shock absorber but with shorter dimensions and stroke designed to complement shorter/lowering/sport springs.

Unfortunately Bilstein don't appear to list C43 shocks in their catalogue which makes me suspect the standard suspension is already lowered and stiffened. I would go with the standard factory setup from MB

Another site lists alt adjustable shockers as:-

KONI SPORT GELB FRONT 8041-1315Sport

REAR 8041-1316Sport

The big V8 engined W208 CLK'S would be the closest chassis to yours but not sure if they would be exactly the same ride height wise?

I guess that BILSTEIN B6 SPORT is the most suitable shock for my car with my stock factory springs.

KONI's gelbe yello shox seems to be nice and cool but other MB owners doesn't recommend them at all.
They say go with Billy's.

Maybe I should email Bilstein to get the best information for my car.
Thanks

Nice!! :thumb: but if it were mine I would drop the rear a touch to match the front?

should I cut the top of the rear spring or is it enough to put a thinner spring pad?

front is almost 1½ finger gap.
rear is almost a 2 finger gap from wheeliearch edge to ontop of the tire!
it's not American style height!

I wouldn't cut the spring. Put a thiner pad in if possible MB do them in different thicknesses, I think they are called "nibs" ie.e 1nib, 2nib etc..

I don't know what the front pad thickness is but I want my car to still be a tad higher in the back and lower in the front.

If I put the same thickness pads in front and rear will my car be levelled as EVEN STEVEN?
MB's looks cooler when they are a little higher in the back.

I think some one like Olly (BlackC55) would be better positioned to comment.

I've started my own thread regarding a suspension swap... It's all your fault!! ;)

If Olly at PCS recommends B8s and he has fitted these to his own car then that sounds a good recommendation. This would fit with the standard AMG suspension since its lowered and uprated in standard form. GIVES:-

B8 SPRINT B36-1854 FRONT

B8 SPRINT B36-1855 REAR

well I don't remember if Mr. Olly said he had the factory suspenson or not?
if he uses the factory setup then perfect,
SPRINT shox and my factory springs!
Here I come.

What's the difference for CLK application?
any better improvement than the w202 application regarding bounce and stiffness?
Since they also seems to fit my car.

Thanx

whazz up guys?
I just got some disturbing info about Bilstein B8 shox.
Like I said before I wanna drop my car with lowering springs.
Therefore I need other shox.
I was told that B8 from Bilstein are no good for C43 AMG?
There was someone on another forum saying B8 are no good for C43 and he also said he talked to a Bilstein shox representative and this dude said B8 are not designed for C43 AMG?
Which means they give a harse ride somehow?
I'm now getting confused because I was going to buy these shox!
If B8 are no good for c43 does B6 fit with lowering springs or do they have the same height as standard MB/AMG shock?
