Which browser do you use?

The only things that annoy me are when some companies like a certain airline which sounds a bit like "Bryan Blair" will spot you've browsed their website and looked at flights and based on your previous browsing, they then put the prices up. They aren't the only ones though. Others do it and if you book certain things in certain other countries other than "Rip Off" Britain (Eurostar, car hire etc.), there are significant savings to be had.

That's a good point. I only really use Amazon for online shopping, so not sure if a VPN would help me there. But I know they use equally scummy tactics of increasing prices at particular times of particular days of the week where people are more likely to be on the website placing orders. There is no end to the Great British Rip Off.

It tends to be more if you have a much larger, perhaps disproportionate number i.e. you never close any, number of windows and / or tabs.

I think it's fair to say that people who use web browsers like that should be eradicated from the gene pool.

It would do because it would make you appear you are in a different country and add a layer of anonymity. You can often still pay with a UK credit (and why not, you could be on holiday there).

I'm not sure I follow you - Amazon already know where I live as that's where they send all the tat I buy from them...!

Or do you mean the prices are different depending on user location?

I can recommend Digibit VPN . No logs are held, its run by a guy in the UK, you can set up a Monthly DD and using a discount code KODIUKTV it works out at £2 a month. Been using it for a couple of years on my Samsung TV and "entertainment" android box. Huge choice of servers too.

Yeah, sometimes the prices of the same goods are far cheaper if Amazon thinks you are in a different country.

Well many people are probably completely oblivious to the fact that Google has a full log of every website they've ever visited for the last 10 years. Granted, a lot of people probably don't care at all, but a lot of people I'm sure will find it creepy and unnecessary. And what other data is Google collecting that we don't know about? And how could all this data potentially be used in the future? We already have police in this country acting way outside their authority by "checking people's thinking" for comments posted on social media - imagine if all UK police officers were armed whilst they're telling you off for posting controversial things on Twitter!

It's the 1984 issue - people either get it, and care about it, or they don't.

Baco.

After a few years of using Chrome on a Win 10 desktop, I've found its going the same way as my previous browser, Firefox and getting slower to load pages.

I've been using Brave for the past 2 weeks and I think I'll make the switch permanent. Its fast, has a built in ad blocker and its easy to move bookmarks from any other browser.

Just wondering which browser everyone else is using (please don't say internet explorer:D) and if you are thinking of changing or trying another.

Safari , on all my devices .

Safari on iPhone, iPad and iMac.
Explorer or Firefox on Windoze machines.

Going back 6 weeks to the first post on this thread, I've been trialing the Brave browser suggested by AMGeed. I have found it to be fast and relatively light on consuming resources. The defining feature for me is the built in ad filter. Not only does it stop ads but the websites you visit don't seem to know you have an ad filter in use. All in all it's excellent and I will continue to use it.

Used to only use Firefox, but have now started to use Brave too. Both on smartphones as well as Laptops

^ I went back to Chrome:doh: as I know it so well. Clearing the cookies revived it no end.
I dabbled recently with MS Edge, but still prefer Chrome.

Well I use Firefox and a VPN on windows 10 seems to be ok,I also use a ad blocker.

I used it on PC and tried it on smartphone, but at the moment they have removed the sync facility, as it caused crashes. So back to Chrome now.
