Hi

Threads already in place about fitting an Audio 10 replacement Kenwood unit for an Ipod, but with SWC - and a point to clear up

It seems that there is debate between two ICE suppliers (MB Dealership still to wade in) whether a module exists to enable SWC

Mine is a March 2004 , last of the 53 reg, pre facelift c class SC.

According to the attached link, Kenwood can supply a link unit to retain SWC

Kenwood Electronics UK Ltd. | Steering Wheel Adaptors > Stalk Wheel Adaptor List

It depends on whether mine is a Becker or Alpine unit and whether its got the 10 way ISO. I think, if Kenwood have their dates and data correct that the unit will do the job, but the ICE guys are not confident, want to strip the system out to have a look - which I will get done

But as always, its good to gather views from tinternet, so any steer here from anybody informed on the subject would be appreciated

Cheers

it being the weekend - anybody able to help here?

Any way of knowing on my car what the ISO config is - apart from ripping it all out and staring at it

One word answers appreciated - but more is more here.

Cheers

I guess they are referring to the car with a MOST fibre ring versus the one with a D2B ring which has the CAN bus on a 10 pin C-connector.

We would need your VIN to be sure which one your car is.

Have pm'd you with the VIN

as per PM I have come to a halt on this as I have 4 views from 3 ICE people now. Thanks is you can help

I am not willing to compromise on SWC so without, I won't be Ipod'ing - which will be a pity.:(
