Of the 86 new shape "C" coupes on Merc's used website only 4 are white but there are 25 in brilliant Blue.
Of the 670 old shape "C" coupes there are 131 in white and only 14 in blue.

Is Brilliant Blue the new White ?

White would have been my first choice for my "E" coupe but my wife was adamant that it was a woman's colour.
Waiting patiently to see one of the "E" coupe "Editions" in Brilliant Blue.

In MB Gatwick most of the cars in the showroom are white with a smattering of other colours.

Brilliant blue is a nice bright good looking colour. If MB offered a greater range, people would buy them.

I like a bit of colour so it's nice to see.

There was a Brilliant Blue C63 in Gatwick which stood out from the monochrome drab that was the rest of the forecourt.

White is a fad that's starting to pass. Red is now the colour I think.

Though I'm told grey is coming back

Red and gunmetal grey will make a comeback I'm sure, both look lovely on new cars but as does white. I still think newer MB's in black still like taxis, reminds me of a night out in Northampton or being in Amsterdam

Initial production was automatically allocated, with no choice on colour. Our demo is brilliant blue too!

We have had white ones, but saved them for customers. The blue is definitely a good colour for the launch cars, as it's quite striking. It really looked the business in the showroom

Interesting to see if anyone can make a red car that doesn't go milky when I have the money to buy one!
I think the new A's look smashing in white.

White is definitely not out! We're getting more and more orders for white cars

I always remember my first holiday to Tenerife as a kid. I was amazed that all the taxis there were White Mercs.

I honestly think most colours look nice if they're kept clean and polished.
Ant.

Yep, even the most hideous colours look nice polished- even that black/green colour on the 530 m-sports!

However, not that poo brown colour I've seen new BMW's in

I think the white colour fad is coming to a end,I have never liked white cars,a couple of years ago a new white Range Rover pulled up besides me at the traffic lights and he saw me looking at it,I suppose he thought I was admiring it but I was thinking if only I had a Harpoon.

A lot of it is down to where you are in the world. In Florida and California for example, I've always found golds look best.

Also Ash, don't forget paint has multiple qualities - eg how it looks in shadow, direct light, ambient etc. I guess you've adjusted specular, ambient and diffuse in your rendering programmes? (assuming using Phong or similar) to get the desired effects. Same's true for paints.

Is that the official name BMW use in their marketing along with Pee Yellow and Massacre Red? :D
