WHITE on the way out ??

Is that the official name BMW use in their marketing along with Pee Yellow and Massacre Red? :D

Haha I'm not sure, that's the closest I could think of, but I think 'baby poo green' would suffice for their light green colour :)

We went car hunting the other day. I said the same thing to my son, ie is the colour white on its way out. Having said that, two of the three GLC's the mb showroom had were in white with pan roofs.
IMO, the colour white has had its day, but if I buy a GLC, it will be white with pan roof, or c estate in white pan roof.
As others said, I like the shiny blue on amg lines c estates with the bigger wheels

Sound a bit hypocritical of me, but the GLC with the pan roof in white does look best.

About the C class Estate AMG, premium, white looks best

At the mo, a; of our cars are black automatics - if I was to buy a C saloon even with pan roof, must be black,

GLE in black

I stand by re the colour white, imo on the way out but as i plan to keep the 65 reg car gor 7/8 years, not worried about re-sale value but white is v difficult to keep clean
My black cars, rarely get washed but inside is very claen as i dont make a mess and just brush out the front mats.

White is like silver; loads about, familiarity has bred, not contempt, but indifference... OK-ish on small cars, I suppose, but a big white estate looks like a GT ambulance, and a white car with big wheels, a bit of bling and some tints, a pimpmobile/tart's handbag. If any of my three E55s had been white, I would not have bought them. Big cars look better, and certainly classier, in dark colours, I think.

It's all a matter of taste, though; each to his own.

Very true.
Certain colours, combinations suit different cars but ones in black, always look good imo.

I'm a fan of most factory add on bit for MB's but after market items on the whole devalue a car as far as I'm concerned

I spotted this last year. Big, white, estate, with big wheels and tints. It's an Audi too, what a loser?!

Why do people think white is on the way out? White C Class' are making 2k above book in the auctions at the moment

I agree white is going for more. If I was ordering new I wouldn't spec white again though. I bought a white SQ5 been there and done it now.

My car has had compliments and nobody has said it looks like a pimpmobile or a GT Ambulamce, which is a pretty dumb comment.

I've had two white SLs also, both also getting compliments from random people.

That car might be white, but in that light it looks more like salmon pink (or it might just be the colour correction on my monitor).

I did have a white C220, which I traded in for an Iridium Silver CLS. I have to be honest in that I am not a big silver fan, but the CLS does look absolutely amazing in silver, especially with its 19" alloys that enhance the colour.

Also, silver is one of those colours that doesn't look dirty when it gets dirty, unlike black which enhances dirt.

Some cars look superb in white, such as the Mondeo and C/E class, while others look pants, such as the Nissan Juke with its black plastic wheel arches.

The real question, though, is what is the better colour of white on a Merc? Diamond/Calcite White or Polar White? I prefer the creamier Diamond/Calcite White myself.

pic of your CLS, fox?

Why do people think white is on the way out?

They're having a wild stab in the dark in an effort to sound as though they're in the know?

I know a couple of traders that can't get enough of white cars (LR or Teutonic), I had to pay over book for this X5 to get a white one and I've got no worries that it'll sell quick when the time comes too.

Polar white looks better if flat colours are your thing but have to say in sunshine the pearlescent white is awesome!

It's Diamond White. The SLs were Diamond and Polar White.

That's my perfect car Pete, if all goes to plan I'll be joining you in ownership in about 6 months.

White shows of the facelift S212's angles and curves beautifully, really does look a lot better than pre-facelift.

I think it's a fad thing and brand specific.

Interestingly 90% of the M3 boys are buying Yas Marina Blue to replace their bland coloured previous shape M3's. I will be going for Sakhir Orange.

If I was to order a new C63 today I think it would be red. White wouldn't be on my radar. Just drove me mad having a colour everyone else has.
