White smoke.

i have a w124.I noticed a white smoke coming from the engine.what can have caused that?

could be condensation evaporating on a cold morning, or cracked cylinder head. Or many different scenarios.

Please provide more info and we can offer more accurate advice.
Engine size?
Smoke from where exactly? Engine, exhaust, radiator?
Just at start or continually?

Hello I had a petrol 330ci and it seemed to do this a lot, noticed especially in traffic (stop start) as my car seemed almost the only one in the line doing it...

Apparently its 'normal' or so I was told, cold mornings / evenings it seems worse...

Never did anything about it and can ran fine.

infact i did not start the car for about 2 weeks coz i was absent.IT is a 230E w124.

the smoke comes from somewhere in the engine compartment ,more exactly under the hood.

Everytime I was focussed on what you are trying to show you moved the camera. Try a much longer steadier shot. If its coming from the region of the exhaust manifold it could be just steam being generated due to moisture on the manifold.

It certainly sounds like moisture being "burnt " off the hot exhaust manifold. Is it still happening, or was it just the first time after the car was sitting.

it stills happens.But there are less smoke than before.

Have you got a slight oil leak from the head that is dripping down onto the exhaust and being burned off when you first start the car?
