Does each car dealer has one Ed for free with a garage and all necessary tools and gadgets? My "Ed" charges £50/h so just counting T - shirt changes Ed has my bill would be around £1200-1600 + parts.
Where is the profit than?

I'd also have gone with Post #6 here. :)

They showed the one with the Boxster S on Turbo last night, where he skims the disks on the car using a nice little portable lathe with all the electric gubbins and measuring devices on it: -

You can't hire these machines and they cost around £5,000 to buy, but any garage owning one will only charge about £200 - £250 to skim your disks

Not a lot of profit there then. :(

It's an entertainment show now more than anything car related.

On a brighter note, a new series of Car SOS starts soon (week Monday?) on Nat Geo so that's always worth a watch. Apart from Tim Shaw.
